NORTH VERNON, Ind. – The Jennings County Historical Society was recently the beneficiary of a $5,000 CARES Grant through funding provided by Indiana Humanities and the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH), as part of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act economic stabilization plan of 2020.
The monetary award is for general operating support for non-profit organizations that offer humanities programming to the public.
“With this $5,000 grant the historical society is able to maintain normal museum hours, continue with the 4th Thursday Speaker Series and other events that can be implemented with social distancing,” says museum curator Chris Asher. “We are very grateful for the grant opportunity.”
