GREENWOOD, Ind. – Aspire Johnson County, the chamber of commerce and economic development organization for Johnson County, has announced that session one of a Teacher Externship Program that local middle and high school teachers, school counselors, and administrators were invited to was a success.
This year’s program was scheduled for two dates, with Aspire School to Work Specialist Jennifer Hollingshead wrapping up the first session last week. The next Externship is this Sunday, October 16 through Tuesday, October 18.
“We wrapped up week 1 of our Teacher Externship Program made possible by a grant from the CenterPoint Energy Foundation,” said Hollingshead. “This is a new program for Aspire, but we gained insight from several Indiana organizations that had done teacher externships successfully. After hearing the impact of this program, I’m excited to offer this again in 2025.”
Hollingshead thanked many local leaders and agencies for hosting the teachers during the Externship.
