COLUMBUS, Ind. – YES Cinema in downtown Columbus temporarily closed one of its screens in response to a reported “bed bug” incident on Friday.
Executive Director of YES Cinema Randy Allman said in a Facebook post, “We take great pride in our staff’s ability to keep the theaters clean for customers. A group from a childcare facility has alleged that a bed bug was found on one of their members. We take this allegation seriously and decided to shut down movies in this one area to ensure that bed bugs are not present.”
One of the two screens remained open while the screen where the bed bug was supposedly found was closed for a professional inspection. Allman was happy to report that the screen reopened on Saturday after no bedbugs were discovered, dead or alive, at YES Cinema.
The inspectors said that “bed bugs would not survive in the environment that YES Cinema fosters.”
