COLUMBUS, Ind. – The City of Columbus, Indiana, will be getting a unique visit from some guests from Columbus, Georgia, on Monday morning.
A group of motorcyclists from the “Peach State,” have embarked on a fund-raising tour of all cities in America that are named, Columbus. Money collected will help build a neonatal intensive care unit simulation lab for Columbus State University in their hometown. University president, Dr. Stuart Rayfield will join them here.
The group, “Miracle Riders,” is traveling over 8,900 miles and visiting 19 cities named Columbus along the way. The motorcyclists started their Miracle Ride 2024 on May 6 and will complete it on May 24.
Columbus Communications and Events Coordinator Judy Coffman says they will get into town at around 11 a.m. with a police escort along Jonathon Moore Pike, over the bridge to the War Memorial. They will receive a personal 30-45 minute tour at the Bartholomew County Memorial for Veterans.
Mayor Mary Ferdon will then host them for a private lunch and hopes that before they leave they will declare Columbus, Indiana, as their “favorite Columbus.”
