NORTH VERNON, Ind. – On November 19th, the Jennings County Sheriff’s Office held its 30th annual Thanksgiving senior dinner at St. Mary’s Church in North Vernon last Sunday, continuing a cherished tradition that brings joy and community spirit.
Chief Deputy Sheriff Jeff Jones expressed gratitude to sponsors and the sheriff’s office staff for their pivotal role in ensuring the success of this milestone event.
Local business Lick Skillet catered the meal, featuring a Thanksgiving feast with turkey and the traditional sides.
Sheriff Freeman extended appreciation to all involved and stated, “Giving back to the community is one of the best ways to build and maintain positive relationships with the community and law enforcement.”
The event also featured door prizes, with several lucky seniors going home with early Christmas gifts.
