INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority (IHCDA) presented the Excellence in Affordable Housing Awards at the annual Indiana Statewide Housing Conference on September 26. Among those recognized was Seymour Lofts, winning the award in the Urban Housing Category.
“Through the Excellence in Affordable Housing Awards, we recognize those properties that have demonstrated exceptional commitment to quality affordable housing. Projects like Seymour Lofts greatly benefit the Hoosiers who live, work, and play in their community, and we are proud to highlight their efforts,” said Lt. Gov. Crouch.
The Urban Housing Category recognizes a property located within a metropolitan area with a population greater than 15,000.
Seymour Lofts was developed to meet the city’s growing demand for affordable housing. Located in the city’s retail corridor, it is in close proximity to shopping, healthcare, entertainment, the post office, parks, and the local Ivy Tech campus.
The development is located in a federally designated Opportunity Zone and is deemed a catalyst for future development in the area. Located in a single three-story building, all of the development’s units are set aside for families.
Improved public infrastructure around the site has allowed for better streets, sidewalks, and crosswalks for ease of transportation and mobility.
