SEYMOUR, Ind. – The Seymour Fire Department (SFD) welcomes the public to two upcoming events.
An Open House is planned for retiring Fire Chief Brad Lucas on Friday, Sept. 29, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Fire Station #2, at 1019 W. Second St. The event will honor the 40-year career of Chief Lucas.
Among his many accomplishments, Lucas helped design the new Fire Station #2/Headquarters and a new training facility was constructed. He also successfully championed the city’s first traffic signal pre-emption system and the installation of a Baby Box at Fire Station #3.
After retiring, he seeks a Seymour Common Council seat.
The groundbreaking for the remodeling of Seymour Fire Station #1 is also in the works and is scheduled for Monday, September 18, at 2 p.m., at 318 East Street.
SFD is kicking off this project to update and expand Fire Station #1 to better serve the department and the community.
