COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) apprehended a Kentucky man last week after a confrontation where he allegedly tried to kick in the door of a home before fleeing.
Deputies were dispatched to the 6300 block of S. County Road 250E on July 31 at around 10:45 a.m. A homeowner reported that Charles Mullins, 67, of Hebron, Kentucky, was trying to kick in the door of his house. Residents confronted the man and after a physical confrontation, the suspect fled the area, per BCSO. After searching, deputies were unable to find him.
The next morning, the homeowners from the original incident saw the suspect walking along State Road 7 and immediately called law enforcement. Deputies found Mullins in the 9900 block of State Road 7. He was caught on supposed Ring camera footage during the original incident, according to law enforcement.
Mullins was charged with battery and residential entry and remains in custody on a $12,250 bond.
