GREENSBURG, Ind. — A Decatur County man was killed in a train accident Monday. The Indiana State Police (ISP) responded to the crash scene, just east of Greensburg.
The initial investigation by ISP crash reconstructionists indicated that at about 12:30 p.m., a car being driven by Charles A. Papenhaus, 78, of Greensburg, turned southbound onto County Road 200E from State Road 46. The driver’s side of Papenhaus’ vehicle was then struck by a westbound Indiana and Ohio Railway Train that was crossing County Road 200E.
