COLUMBUS, Ind. — A man who shot his brother and his brother’s three-year-old son in Hope has been formally charged in Bartholomew County Circuit Court. Robbie Perez, 35, of Columbus, was charged with attempted murder and two counts of aggravated battery.
Investigators determined that the June 1 incident occurred because of a family dispute centered around a long-term feud between Robbie Perez and his brother, George Perez Jr. The confrontation allegedly culminated with the shooting.
Perez Jr. was treated and released from the hospital, however, his son remains there undergoing treatment, according to law enforcement.
