NORTH VERNON, Ind. – The Jennings County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division on Thursday received information about a wanted subject, traveling north on State Road 7, in the area of Grayford Road, Vernon Township.
Investigators were advised that the wanted subject was 43-year-old Clayton J. Littrell. It was confirmed that he had active felony warrants for his arrest out of Bartholomew and Jefferson Counties.
Detectives Ian McPherson and Garret Hoppock located the suspect in a church parking lot in the 1600 block south of State Road 7. As law enforcement approached Littrell, he attempted to flee on his motorcycle, but could not get it started. Littrell then took off on foot.
After a brief foot chase, Littrell was apprehended. He allegedly resisted efforts to be taken into custody but was ultimately arrested for the outstanding warrants and taken to Jennings County Jail. He was also booked on the new charges of resisting law enforcement, illegal possession of a syringe, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of paraphernalia.
