VERNON, Ind. – Jennings County Circuit Court last week convicted a North Vernon man of rape and handed down a sentence of 12 years in an Indiana Department of Corrections prison with two years suspended.
Tyler Lauderdale, of North Vernon, was arrested for the rape of a Vernon Township woman in September 2022.
Deputy John Hartman of the Jennings County Sheriff’s Office handled the investigation. The arrest of Lauderdale was made the same day the report was filed.
After completing an investigation, a case report and other supporting evidentiary documents were turned over to the Jennings County Prosecutor’s Office.
