NORTH VERNON, Ind. – The Jennings County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) recently responded to a burglary within Country Squire Lakes in North Vernon. Several items were taken from the residence including a vehicle and a firearm. The car was recovered two days later by the North Vernon Police Department.
Evidence collected from the recovered stolen vehicle led JCSO to seek a search warrant at a home in Country Squire Lakes, just down the street from the burglary location.
The house was searched and some stolen property from the burglarized home was located. A suspect was taken into custody. Drug paraphernalia and methamphetamine-related items were also allegedly found during the search.
Last week, Sheriff Kenny Freeman and deputies traveled to Columbus on a follow-up investigative lead regarding the whereabouts of the supposed firearm stolen from the burglary location. The firearm was recovered. If you have more information regarding this ongoing investigation, call the Jennings County Sheriff’s Office at 812-346-8642.
