COLUMBUS, Ind. – Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office deputies, Columbus Police Department officers, Indiana State Police-Versailles Post troopers, and about 150 children all participated in the annual “Shop-With-A-Cop” on Sunday, at Walmart in Columbus.
Thanks to the community’s monetary donations to this cause, less fortunate kids in the area got to go shopping with local law enforcement officers and now will have a Christmas. Each child was paired with a cop who helped pick out toys, clothes, school supplies, and other items.
The “Shop-With-A-Cop” program is sponsored by Bartholomew County FOP Lodge #89.
Many spouses and children of the officers also come out every year to make this event run smoothly.
