SEYMOUR, Ind. – A traffic stop conducted by the Indiana State Police (ISP) on Monday resulted in a Jennings County woman being arrested on several drug-related charges including dealing and possession of methamphetamine.
ISP received information from local law enforcement at around 11 a.m. that a possible wanted person was traveling in a vehicle on the east side of Seymour. A trooper located the car being driven by Kelli Cravens, 44, of North Vernon, on US 50 near US 31.
The vehicle was stopped for a traffic infraction. The woman initially provided a false name to the officer, who learned she was wanted on a Jennings County warrant.
After indicators of criminal activity were observed, the trooper deployed K9 “Bosco” to conduct a sweep of the vehicle. The K9 alerted to the odor of illegal drugs. During a search of the car, troopers allegedly found about 25 grams of suspected crystal meth, marijuana, and drug-related items.
Cravens was taken to the Jackson County Jail where she was remanded on charges of dealing meth (over 10 grams), possession of meth (over 10 grams), identity theft, possession of marijuana with a prior conviction, possession of drug paraphernalia, and the Jennings County warrant.
