INDIANAPOLIS – The U.S. Department of Justice has announced that Darryl Brent Waltz, 48, of Greenwood, a former Republican State Senator in Indiana, pleaded guilty in federal court on Monday to two felonies: making and receiving conduit contributions, and making false statements to the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
He will be sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge James R. Sweeney II at a later date. Waltz faces up to five years in prison for each offense.
The trial for the other individual charged in the case, John S. Keeler, is scheduled to begin on April 18.
