WHITELAND, Ind. – The Clark-Pleasant Education Foundation recently received a $7,600 grant from the Duke Energy Foundation for the engineering program at Whiteland Community High School.
Duke’s Powerful Communities K-12 Education grant will provide a wind tunnel and two 3-D printers for engineering classes at the high school. The printers will enable students to create mini-scale bridges, gliders, and rockets. The wind tunnel will allow them to test the effects of physical and chemical elements on airplane wings.
The Duke Energy Foundation’s Powerful Communities program funds more than $30 million annually to communities throughout Duke Energy’s seven-state service area.
