SEYMOUR, Ind. – The Seymour Police Department and Seymour Community Schools have announced the assignment of patrolman Jeremy Helmsing to the position of School Resource Officer (SRO).
Helmsing was a former language arts teacher in Seymour prior to becoming a police officer. He has also been a D.A.R.E. instructor for five years within the schools.
As the newest SRO, Helmsing will be primarily responsible for the elementary schools and 6th-grade center with Seymour Community Schools.
