COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Bartholomew County Historical Society (BCHS) is welcoming chalk artist David Zinn as he returns to Columbus this weekend. To celebrate the Historical Societies Centennial, Rich and Tammy Freeland are funding his appearance that will tie his creative creatures to historical buildings in downtown Columbus.
“David’s characters were a big hit for families in Columbus when he visited several years ago so we thought this would be a creative opportunity to bring a wide demographic of ages together to not only spend time exploring our historic downtown but to also learn a little history of some of our buildings while finding the chalk art drawings,” said BCHS Executive Director Diane Robbins.
Site locations have been identified throughout the downtown historic district. A minimum of eight chalk installations will be created over a 4-day period, from Friday, July 30 through Monday, August 2. You are welcome to watch Zinn as he works each day, between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m., weather permitting.
