COLUMBUS, Ind. – Registration for United Way of Bartholomew County’s Day of Caring beings today, Monday, April 19.
United Way’s Day of Caring is a full-day volunteer event that connects local businesses and community members with non-profit and residential volunteer projects in Bartholomew County. This year’s event is on May 21.
A variety of volunteer projects are available, including planting flowers, mulching, painting, organizing, and sorting donations. Volunteers of all ages and skill levels are welcome to participate.
Because of the pandemic, indoor projects will be limited to a maximum of six to eight volunteers per shift and outdoor projects will accommodate no more than 20 volunteers per shift. Both are based on the size of the space. Mask usage and social distancing will be required at every site.
Last year’s event was canceled because of COVID-19, but previous Day of Caring happenings have attracted about 1,000 volunteers. If you are interested, you may sign up here.
