NORTH VERNON, Ind. – Jennings County Sheriff Kenny Freeman recently presented awards from the American Law Enforcement Hall of Fame to dispatcher Julie Miller and deputy Ian McPherson.
McPherson and Miller were presented with the Knight of Justice award for their outstanding efforts and performance during an investigation where two endangered female juvenile runaways were located in Iowa and safely returned home. The girls were lured out of state by an unknown male that they had met online.
Deputy McPherson led the investigation and worked with dispatcher Miller and the Iowa State Police in locating the teens in Iowa as they were traveling to California.
The Knight of Justice award is issued from the American Police Hall of Fame in Titusville FL.
