NORTH VERNON, Ind. – At the North Vernon City Council meeting on Monday, Mayor Mike Ochs announced that Keith Messer has been named the new Chief of Police for the North Vernon Police Department (NVPD).
He replaces Chief James Webster who earlier had announced his plans to retire on March 27, after having served over 27 years with NVPD.
Chief Messer will assume his duties and responsibilities on Sunday, March 28.
