HAYDEN, Ind. – A 24-year-old western Jennings County woman was seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash on US 50 in Jennings County, at around 4:15 p.m. on Thursday.
The initial Indiana State Police (ISP) investigation indicated that a car driven by Corey Freeman, 24 of Hayden, was southbound on County Road 580W approaching US 50, and apparently disregarded the stop sign at the intersection. Her car collided with a pickup truck pulling a trailer, driven by Cody St John, 21, of North Vernon.
Both vehicles left the road before coming to rest. Freeman was extricated from her vehicle before being flown to an Indianapolis hospital for treatment of serious injuries. St John was taken to Schneck Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
ISP says US 50 was closed for nearly two hours for crash investigation and clean up.
