COLUMBUS, Ind. – Four people were busted on felony charges Wednesday evening after the Columbus Police Department (CPD) pulled a car over for a minor violation, at around 6:20 p.m., near 17th and Union Streets.
Officers spoke with the driver, Kristopher Harris, 35, of Columbus, and determined that his driver’s license was suspended. A Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office deputy and her police dog also responded and the K-9 reportedly alerted to the odor of narcotics inside the car.
During a search, CPD allegedly found a glass smoking pipe containing methamphetamine, several syringes, marijuana, controlled substances, and a .22 caliber rifle.
Harris was taken into custody along with his passengers, Cory Crowe, 31, of Columbus, Winston Zink, 36, of Nashville, Indiana, and Samantha Banks, 46, of Columbus.
Harris was booked for possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon, possession of a controlled substance, possession of a legend drug, and driving while suspended with a prior conviction.
Crowe was charged with possession of a syringe.
Zink was arrested for possession of a syringe, possession of meth, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Banks was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of a syringe.
