COLUMBUS, Ind. – The United Way of Bartholomew County is honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy by organizing and participating locally in the annual MLK Day of Service next month.
On Jan. 20, Americans honor him through service projects that strengthen communities and empower individuals.
Bartholomew County residents are invited to celebrate Dr. King’s legacy by participating in volunteer projects for United Way’s mission and certified partners.
Opportunities for residents are available beginning January 2 by going here. Many non-profit and social service organizations post their volunteer needs through this website, and it can be accessed year-round for all occasions.
Volunteer Action Center Director Alicia Monroe said, “United Way and the Volunteer Action Center seek to honor our community and this national event by organizing and encouraging volunteerism that helps make Bartholomew County a better place to live.”
