SEYMOUR, Ind. – The Jackson County Co-Op Academy, presented by the Indiana Cooperative Development Center, is a seven-week program designed to introduce participants to the cooperative business model and equip them with the knowledge and tools necessary to develop their cooperative.
Seasoned experts will teach the “Co-Op Basics,” including cooperative principles, business planning, and governance, and ensure the participants are well-acquainted with all the necessary steps to create a cooperative business. You will learn how Co-Ops differ from other business models and their advantages.
This academy is the first in Indiana and is supported by a Rural Development Grant from the USDA. The Jackson County Chamber was selected to partner and host the academy with the Indiana Cooperative Development Center due to its history of growing and supporting successful home-grown businesses.
The Co-Op Academy will meet on Mondays, every two weeks, beginning September 23, at the Chamber office in Seymour.
Those interested in participating in the Co-op Academy should email ICDC Director Deb Trocha at dtrocha@icdc.coop.
