WHITELAND, Ind. – Clark-Pleasant Community School Corporation leaders stood alongside Indiana Gov. Eric Holcomb at the Statehouse on Thursday for the signing of House Bill 1104.
Superintendent Dr. Timothy Edsell, Clark-Pleasant Police Chief Chad Pryce, and Officer Shari Mullins were invited as guests of State Representative Michelle Davis.
The bill sets guidelines for safety plans during armed intruder drills and allows School Police Departments to participate in the 1977 Police Pension Plan. Officer Mullins and Chief Pryce previously testified in support of the bill in the Senate and House.
This new provision is expected to benefit school resource officers personally and professionally, aiding in recruiting and retaining experienced and qualified police officers.
