COLUMBUS, Ind. – The City of Columbus, Indiana is currently experiencing a disruption affecting all phone lines across its municipal buildings. On Tuesday, Smithville reported that one of their fiber lines had been cut that provides service to the city and several other businesses in the area.
This unforeseen technical issue has resulted in the temporary inability to make or receive calls to the public. City officials are actively working with telecommunications providers to resolve the disruption.
In the interim, residents are encouraged to utilize alternative communication methods. Email correspondence and the city’s official website will remain fully operational. For non-emergency inquiries to the Columbus Fire Department or the Columbus Police Department, please call 812.379.1689. If you are experiencing an emergency, please call 911.
Further updates will be provided as they become available on the City of Columbus website.
