COLUMBUS, Ind. – Columbus Mayor Mary Ferdon swore in two new police officers for the Columbus Police Department (CPD) at the Board of Public Works and Safety meeting on Tuesday morning.
Luis Colon Santiago (Badge #298) is from Puerto Rico. He graduated from Columbus North High School and served eight years in the Marine Corps as a communications technician. He continued his work as a military contractor in Germany after being honorably discharged.
Devin Fearrin (Badge #299) is from Lebanon, Indiana. After graduating high school, he joined the Army National Guard as a military police officer. While in the National Guard, he attended Indiana State University and obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in cyber criminology. Fearrin has also worked as a special deputy at the Boone County Sheriff’s Office Jail.
In the coming weeks, Colon Santiago and Fearrin will start training with CPD instructors before going to the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy in August.
