SEYMOUR, Ind. – The City of Seymour is planning to close five blocks of W. Second Street from the east side of Bryant Boulevard to the east side of Emerson Drive beginning this Tuesday, May 28. At that time, the current closure at Wright Implement will be reopened.
The Seymour Fire Department will maintain emergency access through the construction to get east from Fire Station 2, and also to Maple Avenue through Elm Street for Brooklyn Pizza, Blue & Co., the Jackson County Health Department, and Premier Companies.
Dave O’Mara Contractor Inc. will work west to east. Crews estimate the work in this segment will take 3-4 weeks before they move to Phase 3 (Elm to Pine).
The contractor is looking at using workers with a flagging operation at Second Street and Airport Road on Tuesday, May 28. This section will be flagged and not closed to install about 340 feet of 16-inch pipe at the intersection.
