COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Columbus Police Department (CPD) revealed at 2:20 a.m. on Wednesday that Ryder Newman, the 12-year-old autistic child who had gone missing Tuesday evening had been found unharmed.
The Columbus and Bartholomew County Alert System announced Tuesday, just after 6 p.m., that CPD was seeking any information regarding the missing child. The youngster was last seen wearing a blue shirt, blue pants, and black and grey camo shoes south of 17th Street, near State and Jones Streets in East Columbus.
In an update on Tuesday at 11:45 p.m., authorities said another group of law enforcement officers from CPD, the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office, and Indiana State Police had arrived to assist with the search for Rider Newman.
