BROWNSTOWN, Ind. – Students from the Brownstown Central High School Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Training Class, taught by Jon Claycamp, came to the I-65 Scales in Jackson County on Monday to learn how the Indiana State Police (ISP) Motor Carrier Inspectors inspect commercial motor vehicles and the violations that they look for when conducting an inspection.
ISP Motor Carrier inspectors Colin Waltz and Mary Eglen spoke to the students about their job responsibilities and their role in ensuring the safety of commercial vehicles on Indiana highways.
Through this program recently started in Brownstown Schools, students acquire their CDL while still in high school. The program helps start high schoolers on a career after graduation.
