COLUMBUS, Ind. – A father and son from Columbus were taken into cus tody Monday night on narcotics-related charges after a long-term drug dealing investigation by the Joint Narcotics Enforcement Team (JNET).
JNET received several tips and leads about drug dealing possibly occurring at 4970 N Indianapolis Rd.
As a result of the investigation, a search warrant was obtained for the home and Monday at around 11 p.m., Columbus Police Department SWAT members, comprised of officers from the Columbus Police Department and the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office, executed the warrant.
During the search, a large amount of drug paraphernalia, packaging materials, and digital scales were allegedly located, indicative of drug dealing. Michael D. Sample, 54, and Michael A. Sample, 32, were found inside and arrested.
Michael D. Sample was preliminarily charged with two counts of dealing in methamphetamine (level 2 felony), dealing in meth (level 3 felony), maintaining a common nuisance, possession of a legend drug, and possession of paraphernalia.
Michael A. Sample was booked for maintaining a common nuisance and possession of paraphernalia.
