COLUMBUS, Ind. – Columbus East High School science teacher Lisa Porter was chosen to journey to Antarctica for a conservation and research expedition during spring break.
There, she collaborated with the World Wildlife Federation of Australia on a scientific study examining the impact of climate change on whale migrations and behaviors. Humpback whales are essential to a healthy ocean and planet and make some of the longest migrations on Earth.
A spokesperson said, “The Columbus East community appreciates having Mrs. Porter as an esteemed teacher and her positive impact in the classroom seamlessly extends to her invaluable contributions to our environment.”
