COLUMBUS, Ind. — State Sen. Greg Walker (R-Columbus) welcomed several local students to the Indiana Statehouse who served as Senate pages in January.
Pages spend a day at the Statehouse touring the historic building, observing debates from the Senate floor, and interacting with their state senator.
“It’s always nice to welcome students from my district to the Statehouse,” Walker said. “Learning about the legislative process is important and the page program allows them to experience it firsthand. I look forward to meeting more bright students from our community.”
Students in grades six through 12 participate in the page program on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays during the legislative session. Groups serve on Wednesdays.
