FRANKLIN, Ind. – Before the final round of wrestling matches this Saturday, January 20, Franklin High will officially rededicate the recently renamed “Hasseman Fieldhouse.”
Coach Bob Hasseman was an educator and coach at Franklin Community High School (FCHS) from 1986 to 2019. During his tenure as FCHS wrestling coach his teams won 11 IHSAA Regional Championships, 19 IHSAA Sectional Championships, 20 Johnson County Championships, and 17 Mid-State Conference Championships.
Hasseman was inducted into the IHSWCA Hall of Fame in 2017.
FCHS Athletic Director Bill Doty said, “As a teacher at FCHS, Mr. Hasseman had a way of building a relationship with each student in his class and everyone he came across. Relationships matter.”
Everyone is invited to the 2024 Bob Hasseman Classic starting at 9 a.m. on Saturday to honor the Coach and cheer for the Grizzly Cubs.
