SEYMOUR, Ind. – Phi Beta Psi-Theta Omega Chapter in Seymour has announced its Queen Candidates for their 51st Annual Cancer Dance, Black and White Gala.
Each February, the sorority conducts a dinner/dance and raises funds for its national project of cancer research. This year’s event is on Saturday, February 3, at Pewter Hall in Brownstown. The Jackson Way Band will provide music.
Six young women from Jackson County are contending to be crowned the 2024 Phi Beta Psi Cancer Dance queen.
Tickets for the event are $40 each and may be purchased from sorority members Cathy Otte, Sasha Sitterding, Abby Parkes, Tracie Lane, and Wendy Mellencamp.
Collection containers have been placed by the candidates at various business locations, asking for a “penny-a-vote.” The queen is determined by who raises the most money through the collection containers, as well as donations from family, friends, and businesses. Proceeds go to cancer research.
The six Jackson County High School seniors competing for the title are Jenna Bolte, Drew Hubbard, Ryl ee May, Katherine (Katie) Otte, Madilyn Wirtz, and Kiley Zabel.
