COLUMBUS, Ind. – As many residents were recovering from partying the night before, the City of Columbus officially welcomed a new mayor on New Year’s Day.
After securing a victory in the primary election last May, former director of the city’s administration and community development Mary Ferdon received 73% of the vote in the general election in November.
She was sworn in along with members of the Columbus City Council and city department heads on Monday, in the Cal Brand Meeting Hall at Columbus City Hall.
Ferdon takes over from two-term Mayor Jim Lienhoop.
