SEYMOUR, Ind. – Two Kentucky Residents were arrested for dealing methamphetamine and other charges after five pounds of suspected crystal meth was reportedly seized during a recent traffic stop on I-65 near Seymour.
The Indiana State Police (ISP) pulled over an SUV on southbound I-65, near the 51-mile marker, for a traffic violation. During the traffic stop, the trooper said he smelled the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.
During a search, ISP allegedly found suspected marijuana and a handgun that had been reported stolen in Kentucky. A bag containing a large amount of a crystalized substance, believed to be crystal methamphetamine was also supposedly discovered. The amount of the suspected crystal meth was later determined to be about five pounds.
The driver of the vehicle, Radida D. Woodard, 36, of Horse Cave, Kentucky, was taken into custody on charges of Dealing over 10 grams of Meth (Level 2 Felony) and Possession of Meth (Level 3 Felony).
A passenger in the vehicle, Eric J. Rice, 42, of Munfordville, Kentucky, was arrested for Dealing over 10 grams of Meth (Level 2 Felony), Possession of Meth (Level 3 Felony), Possession of a Stolen Firearm (Level 5 Felony), Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of Paraphernalia.
Both Woodard and Rice were transported to the Jackson County Jail where they were incarcerated pending their initial court appearances.
