COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Columbus Police Department (CPD) arrested a Washington, Indiana, man on Saturday evening when law enforcement says he tried to flee from authorities on his bicycle.
Anthony Duncan, 58, was spotted by CPD riding a bike near 11th Street and Union Street at 8:10 p.m. After officers confirmed a warrant for his arrest, Duncan fled the area and was later observed near a home in the 1400 block of Cottage Avenue. Police chased him down and took the suspect into custody.
They allegedly found drugs and drug-related items in his clothing during a search, according to CPD.
Duncan was transported to the Bartholomew County Jail (BCJ) where he was remanded on the preliminary charges of Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Resisting Law Enforcement, and the outstanding Bartholomew County Arrest Warrant.
