VERNON, Ind. — Advocates for Children presented seven new Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) volunteer advocates for a swearing-in ceremony at the Jennings County Circuit Court on June 20.
The CASA volunteers will advocate for abused and neglected children involved in court proceedings in Jennings and Bartholomew counties. Judge Murielle Bright and Magistrate Christopher Doran conducted the swearing-in ceremony at the Jennings County Courthouse. Executive Director, Therese Miller welcomed the volunteers to the staff of Advocates for Children.
“We thank you for your willingness to step outside your comfort zone and do the hard work of helping the most vulnerable children in our community,” she said. A reception for family and friends was held following the ceremony.
