FRANKLIN, Ind. – Local artists are invited to submit mural designs for the Color the County Mural Program’s 2023 selected mural location in Franklin. The chosen design will be installed on the Johnson County Public Library (JCPL) Franklin Branch’s ‘Book Barn’ at 439 S. State St.
Designs are accepted until May 31. The work of art will then be celebrated with a summer Community Painting Day where residents of all ages will help bring the mural to life.
The selected designer(s) will join forces with the Johnson County Community Foundation (JCCF) to implement the high-quality mural. Design selection will be based on, but not limited to, artistic quality, the strength of concept, originality, uniqueness, appropriateness for our time, and the historical context of location.
