FRANKLIN, Ind. – UPDATE: The person killed in the accident early this morning has been identified as Kaylarees R. Rutherford, 20, of Franklin, according to Johnson County Coroner Michael Pruitt. The accident remains under investigation by JCSO.

The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) is investigating an early Saturday morning crash, in the 6600 block of East County Road 400S in Franklin, that took one life.
JCSO and Amity Fire Department were dispatched to a single-vehicle accident at about 4:45 a.m.
There were three people in the vehicle, including the driver. One occupant was transported to IU Health Methodist Hospital via Lifeline and another was taken to Eskenazi Hospital via ambulance. One person was pronounced dead at the scene, said Johnson County Sheriff Duane Burgess.
County Road 400S between U.S. 31 and County Road 600E was closed for a short time so investigators could collect evidence and for accident cleanup, per JCSO.
