COLUMBUS, Ind. – IUPUC and Mill Race Center are presenting “Great Decisions: War Crimes” this Thursday, April 20, from 6:30 to 8 p.m., at Mill Race Center.
Speaker Timothy William Waters, Ph.D., is a Professor of Law and an Associate Director of the Center for Constitutional Democracy, IU Bloomington. He will consider the question: What exactly are war crimes?
Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has resulted in widespread charges of war crimes and calls for justice. Opinions of what constitutes a war crime have evolved, as have ways to identify and punish the perpetrators. How will the war crimes committed in Ukraine be dealt with?
Great Decisions is America’s largest discussion program on world affairs. Every year, communities around the country convene to discuss eight international topics chosen by a panel of experts. Locally, IUPUC and Mill Race Center present a forum every Thursday, 6:30 to 8 p.m., through May 11.
This program is sponsored nationally by the Foreign Policy Association and presented locally by IUPUC’s Division of Liberal Arts and Mill Race Center. Great Decisions is supported by a grant from Indiana University’s Innovate Indiana initiative.
