NORTH VERNON, Ind. — Calling all volunteers. The annual Day of Caring in Jennings County is seeking volunteers to participate this Saturday, April 15. The event is sponsored by the Jennings County United Way.
“Several volunteers have already committed to work this year but we can always use more people,” said Cheri Massey, United Way director. “This is a wonderful way to help those in the community who need it the most.”
Projects include everything from yard work and landscaping to painting, window cleaning, and minor construction work. Individuals are assigned projects at residences of the elderly or disabled and at businesses housing nonprofits and public spaces such as parks.
United Way board president Beth Burnett said, “It is very gratifying and can’t help but warm the hearts of volunteers as well as those they help. You can sign up to volunteer individually or work as a team.”
