FRANKLIN, Ind. – There are two disaster debris sites open in Johnson County as local areas continue to clean up after the storms and the tornado that damaged south-central Indiana last week.
The Johnson County Recycling District is accepting debris at two separate locations:
- The Johnson County Fairgrounds in Franklin
- GFL Environmental, 2959 Emerson Ave, in Whiteland
Hours of operation for both sites are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily and are available through at least April 15.
The sites are open to any and all Johnson County residents.
All materials must be separated into bins based on the following material type:
- General Refuse (trash)
- Refrigerators, dishwashers, and all other household appliances (or those containing freon)
- Metals
- Household Hazardous Waste (oil, gas, pesticides, pool chemicals, and paint electronics)
- Clean Yard Waste (non-treated wood, shrubs, limbs, but NO tree stumps)
