COLUMBUS, Ind. – Heritage Fund – The Community Foundation of Bartholomew County (HFBC) recently awarded $138,442 in grants from its Community Fund to local nonprofit organizations as part of its fourth-quarter grants cycle for 2022.
Through the generous support of community members, HFBC annually distributes approximately $600,000 to $700,000 in grants to local nonprofits from the unrestricted Community Fund. Community Fund grants help HFBC to meet emerging needs in Bartholomew County in the areas of Youth Development, Substance Abuse, Neighborhood Revitalization, Innovation and Creativity, and Welcoming Community.

4th Quarter 2022 grant recipients are:
- Su Casa Columbus – $31,010.33 to support the Taylorsville program pilot in 2023
- Cols. Economic Development Corp – $28,000 for a community delegation to Myoshi, Japan
- Bartholomew Co. Public Library – $22,963 to support the Growing Readers program for kids
- Servants at Work – $19,350 to support ramp builds for disabled Bartholomew Co. residents
- The Arc of Bartholomew County – $15,000 to support the CommCard Program pilot
- IUPUC – $12,119.32 for the iEngage summer civics camp program for Grades 5-8
- Reins to Recovery – $10,000 to support an increase in services
In addition to these Community Fund awards, other grants from the 4th quarter include:
- REACH Columbus, Inc. – $3,000 to support equipment purchases for a new location
- NAACP of Bartholomew County – $3,000 to support Black History Month activities
- Purdue University Polytechnic Institute – $2,000 for the Boiler Tech Challenge
- Turning Point Domestic Violence Services – $3,000 to support client needs
