BATESVILLE, Ind. – The Indiana State Police (ISP) arrested a Johnson County woman on drug and other charges on Friday morning following a road rage incident involving a handgun on I-74 in Ripley and Dearborn Counties.
Troopers received a report of possible road rage activity on westbound I-74, near the Indiana/Ohio State Line at 11 a.m. The witness said another driver had allegedly pointed at their vehicle. ISP soon located the car near Batesville.
During a traffic stop, ISP became suspicious of additional criminal activity. K-9 Bosco alerted to the odor of illegal drugs in the car. During a search, police supposedly found four grams of methamphetamine, five grams of pot, and a 9mm handgun.
The driver, Lisa Marie Hancock, 50, of Franklin, was arrested on charges of possession of meth with a firearm, pointing a firearm, reckless driving, and possession of marijuana.
She was taken to Ripley County Jail where she was incarcerated pending her initial court appearance.
