COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Columbus Fire Department has announced the promotion of three department members to fill officer vacancies left by the recent retirement of Battalion Chief Jeff Cain on January 6. The advancements became effective on Monday, January 16.
Capt. Mike Sieverding was promoted to the rank of Battalion Chief. Battalion Chief Sieverding is a 25-year veteran of the department and became a captain in 2013.
Lt. Aaron Eichel has been elevated to the rank of Captain. Capt. Eichel has served 16 years with the department. He had been a lieutenant since 2019.
Firefighter Chris Tuttle was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant. Lt. Tuttle is a 16-year veteran of the Columbus Fire Department.
