COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Bartholomew Consolidated School Corporation (BCSC) congratulates Mary Hamlin, BCSC’s Transition Coordinator, for being selected to receive The Arc of Indiana’s Champion Award.
The honor recognizes an individual, business, or organization, that makes a positive impact in the lives of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities through advocacy, programs, services, or initiatives.
Hamlin was chosen for the Champion Award in response to her many years of work and dedication to Bartholomew County’s special education efforts as well as her work in spearheading the start of the Empower Program. The project is a joint effort by IUPUC, Ivy Tech Community College-Columbus, and BCSC to help students with disabilities as they transition to college.
BCSC says it is thankful for the work that Mary does on its Board of Directors, for the difference she makes in the lives of countless students, and for the important role she plays in the community.
